Discover where the streets are closing so the fun can open up! These pedestrian-friendly events across Philadelphia’s western suburbs invite you to dine outdoors, enjoy live music, and stroll local businesses without traffic. Most are recurring through the spring and summer of 2025.

📍 West Chester: Gay Street Open-Air Market

  • Dates: Fridays through Sundays, May 2 – September 28, 2025
  • Times: Street closures from Friday morning through Monday morning
  • Location: Gay Street between Matlack and Darlington Streets

This seasonal event transforms four blocks of Gay Street into a pedestrian-only zone every weekend. Enjoy al fresco dining, boutique shopping, and outdoor yoga on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.

🛍️ Phoenixville: PXV Inside Out

(not officially announced, but we're hoping)
  • Dates: Weekends from May 23 – October 7, 2025
  • Times: Fridays 4–10 PM; Sat/Sun 7 AM–10 PM
  • Location: Bridge Street from Starr to Gay Street

Bridge Street becomes pedestrian-only on weekends, offering outdoor dining, live performances, shopping, and a festival vibe. Open-container laws apply within designated zones.

🌟 Media: Dining Under the Stars

  • Dates: Wednesdays from May 7 to September 24, 2025
  • Times: 5:00 – 10:00 PM (State Street closes at 4:00 PM)
  • Location: State Street, Media, PA

Enjoy weekly outdoor dining along Media’s historic State Street. Local restaurants take over the roadway for a relaxed, family-friendly night with food, drinks, and music.

🏙️ Philadelphia: Open Streets - West Walnut

  • Dates: Sundays, April 6, 13, 20 & 27, 2025
  • Times: 10 AM – 5 PM (street closures 7 AM – 6 PM)
  • Location: Walnut Street (15th to 19th) + 18th Street

Enjoy a car-free experience in Rittenhouse Square with outdoor seating, live entertainment, and kid-friendly activities. Businesses like Parc, J.Crew, and Bar BombĂłn participate in the fun.
